Heather & Rob

Heather and Rob’s amazing wedding last weekend was perfect! It had rained for days prior to the wedding, and I wasn’t quite sure that the weather would cooperate when Friday and Saturday arrived. Unbelievably, it did more than cooperate. It was spectacular! And I would be remiss to not share that it started raining again on Monday morning. So… spectacular is the word to describe the weather, this amazing couple who were completely relaxed and joyful, glamorous makeup by Kim Wadsworth, a well-orchestrated event that gave pleasure to each of the five senses and that was designed perfectly by the talented Michelle Kilgore, perfect lighting by Blue Steel Prolighting, floral decadence by Patrice Dupuis, and flavorful food and desserts (not to mention incredible venue) by Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club. It’s always fun to work with incredible people and Heather and Rob fit that ticket. Jane and I can’t wait to hear about what is happening in their lives in the next few years. I am confident there will be great stories of love, laughter, and happiness. Thanks for letting us photograph this great weekend!

Amanda & Chris

Jane and I had a great time getting to know Amanda and Chris. Amanda is running for House of Delegates in the state of West Virginia and after spending several days with her, I am convinced that she loves her state and the people that live there! I’m not sure West Virginia could find someone who would work harder for them! Chris is an anestiologist, and even with his busy schedule, he finds time to be incredibly supportive. I also couldn’t get over how much Chris looks like my brother, Andy. I think they could be twins!! In any case, I loved Amanda’s original style for the bold, and her backdrop of The Greenbrier fit her perfectly. Plus, she really loves shoes! She gave each of her attendants their own fashionable pair of heels. Best to you both and I know amazing things are in store for you! Thanks for letting us share in this amazing day!

Catlin & Matt

I had a great time in DC with Caitlin and Matt at The Fairfax at Embassy Row, and their wedding was quite beautiful! We had a lot of fun driving around the city for photos. Caitlin and Matt are genuinely loved by their friends and family and are hugely successful. I know that between the love and support that they are receiving from those that care for them, and their deep commitment to one another, they are sure to remember this wedding day as the beginning of an incredible life together!!

You will be missed, Senator Ted Stevens

When we photograph a wedding, we are doing more than just taking photographs. We are stepping into the lives of two families. For that day, we are a part of their inner circle, watching the bride and groom as they interact with the people they love the most. It is an emotional experience for us. We become connected in our own way to these individuals, and when we hear from them in years to come it is such a blessing. We rejoice when babies are born and we grieve when a loved one is lost. Lily unexpectedly lost her father this week, and she, her siblings and mother grieve. Alaska grieves. In fact, an entire nation grieves. We are so sad for this lovely family and know that Senator Stevens was truly LOVED by so many. We pray for peace and comfort during this time of loss, and can only be thankful that we were able to catch a glimpse of the man Ted Stevens was to so many!
